A Personal Note

To my readers,

Get Visual has been silent for the last couple of weeks due to a death in the family.

You can read the obituary of my oldest sister, Mona Ruth Brickman, by clicking here.

Many important shows have just opened for the summer season in our region; I plan to get to all of them and bring back reviews. In the meantime, I thank you for your patience and support.

Tomorrow's Masters Today reception at AIHA

I may not have a chance to post a review this week, so here's a little teaser instead: The Albany Institute of History & Art will hold a reception during Albany's 1st Friday events for a show of 50 works by 50 artists called Tomorrow's Masters Today. A few of the pieces are reproduced here (that's Christopher Lisio above, Scott Donohue at right and Susan Stuart below).

If you want to have a look at all the artworks, click here to visit the Institute's page for the exhibition. There's a Gala the following Friday for the well-enough-heeled, and all the art will be available for sale through a silent auction. Full disclosure: I am also included. Hope to see you there!
